The property allows for a good base to explore the area,... read more but also a relaxing spacious place, that we stayed in one whole day and did nothing. Neither of us have had any time off work for 10 months and we needed it.

There are so many places to visit in the surrounding area, so many hidden gems to explore, we visited towns, villages, found some lovely restaurants and friendly people everywhere. Recommend the Castle Coombe and Nettleton Mill Circular walk right from the front door. You can easily get to many of the listed usual Cotswolds recommended sights and easy access to Bath. We also recommend Lacock and Cirencester and you drive through the most picturesque areas.

It had everything we needed, clean, excellent shower pressure, comfortable bed, good tv during the football and excellent wifi as I needed to have a 2 hour zoom work meeting. We cooked some meals and went out to eat, the kitchen was well stocked with utensils. There’s supermarkets 10 minutes drive away, so no need to stock up too much. Claire’s suggested the Allington Farm shop and it did the most amazing breakfast, shame we only visited it in our last day.

Totally silent, no traffic noise or street lights at night, really relaxing stay, best sleep I’ve had in a while.

Castle Combe is a short walk away and IMO the most stunning of all areas we visited.

I would recommend this place to stay, it was just what we needed.

The location is super secluded and peaceful which was great for us and the place itself had everything we needed... read more and felt really homely. Claire is also really helpful and only a message if needed but gives you space to enjoy your stay. A car or a willingness to walk is needed but that was no problem for us as the place was even on Goog Maps so easy to find.

If you are looking for a gateway that clears the cobwebs from the grind of everyday life, then this gem in the almost hidden valley is exactly what is needed.

There are also restaurants close by in a smattering of local villages, from high end to excellent pubgrub, all of them in these historic type village/building settings.

  Super host for a reason!

What a fabulous find Robins Nest was. We have previously arrived at rentals and been disappointed, we arrived here and this was not the... read more case, the place is better than the photos. We had a long stay ( weeks).

Accommodation - exceptionally clean, well thought out and equipped to a high standard. We were there during the snow and the heating was more than satisfactory and added to the cozy feeling. There was nothing more we could’ve asked for.

Location - we were looking for somewhere peaceful and relaxing, and this was perfect. Beautiful country walks on the doorstep.

Host - Claire was a fabulous host, she had thought of everything and nothing was too much trouble. We were staying over Christmas and she even provided us with a tree, not to mention loaning us a sledge for the snow! Claire checked in a few times (via text) to make sure we had everything we needed, but other than that you’re in a private setting.

I would highly recommend Robin’s Nest.

Robin's Nest... read more was perfect for a few days break, it more than matched the description. A wonderful cottage set in the depths of the countryside. Instructions for getting there and getting in were clear and conscise. Claire even warned me about a hard to see pothole to watch out for. We went straight there and got in with no fuss at all.
Inside it was immaculate with tasteful furnishings, a well equiped kitchen with a full range of appliances which were all new or nearly new, modern bathrooms, everything spotlessly clean. The decor was clean and fresh and again nothing was scruffy or unkempt.
Walks from the cottage were a delight.
It's a perfect overnight break if you are travelling from the north down to Cornwall. Costing about the same as Travel Lodge but SO much better and relaxing.
We will be visiting again.

They were super communicative and quick to respond, making sure that we had everything we needed upon arrival. They even stocked the fridge for us with a few groceries that we had requested beforehand. Robin's Nest itself was amazing. Sitting tucked away in a quaint and charming hamlet, it served as the perfect getaway from London. Inside the home, it was very clean and well-stocked with everything we needed. All the appliances worked and were quite modern. There is a direct walk to Castle Combe that cuts through a lush and peaceful forest, which makes it a fantastic hidden gem if you're looking to be close to local attractions but want to escape the crowds. Honestly, Robin's Nest is quite simply one of the best places you'll have the chance to stay away from home. Do yourself a favor and book a spot here ASAP!
